Who We Are

From mates at school dreaming about travelling the world, we always knew we’d do it. The plan was to wait until after university but patience was never our strong point. After our first year we scraped together enough cash for an inter-railing trip through Eastern and Central Europe.

At 18 it was our first real taste of travel and we learnt a lot. Most importantly we realised how much we loved it. The trip was nicknamed “interbeer” for reasons that do not need much explaining but moving from place to place with our homes on our backs was far too addictive to stop. From then on we travelled whenever we could. Weeks away, long weekends, sacrificing Friday and Monday lectures to explore somewhere new. Sorry Mum and Dad.

When 2020 rolled in so did corona and the brakes went on. Lockdowns stopped us in our tracks. But this meant we were able to save enough money to finally plan the big one. In September 2021 we set off with no real expectations other than to travel for as long as possible.

Twelve months was the aim. 4 years later we have been to over 75 countries across 6 continents and travelled far enough to reach the moon and back. Not the proudest moment for our carbon footprint but it has meant experiencing an incredible mix of cultures, meeting people from all walks of life and sampling more than a few international beers along the way.

Gringos was born from those journeys. We want to be the ultimate and essential backpackers streetwear brand. Clothes made by travellers for travellers. Every design celebrates the chaos, connections and small moments that make backpacking what it is. Our “dos cerveza por favor” philosophy is about making the most of every single day. We truly believe that wherever you are in the world, whoever you meet, you can always find common ground over a couple of beers.

We are here to represent backpackers in a way that feels real. Streetwear inspired by the hostels, night buses, sunsets, dodgy scooters, border crossings and perfect strangers who become mates for life. This is not just clothing. It is a badge of honour for those who know that the journey starts at a hostel bar and never really ends.
